Jesus Christ is the Good Shepherd. He defines himself as this loving coherence way for all of history. History is salvation history. What this implies is that we are not here to fearfully open up a can of worms each day. Motherhood in the religious sense of the Church of Jesus Christ is the mystical bride in the second reading from Revelation giving birth to all the saints of history who rejoice in the blood of the lamb. Mother and bride are unified in Christianity.
