The feast of St. Joseph reminds us of the church as a family. The old idea of a family is that of a “house” building up a amidst the decay of the world. New life emerges from the roots of faith. Jesus employs this image in gospel as each generation must accept its role to live by the gospel in a spirit of trust in God’s anointed one. We imitate Christ so as to be filled with his Spirit. Our youth are looking for the house of God to dwell in against which evil will not prevail. On St. Joseph’s Day some 20 young men from our parish went up to St. Joseph’s Seminary to listen to God speaking to them in the offer to donate their lives in faith to God. May St. Joseph watch over the house of the Church. Ita ad Ioseph – Go to Joseph.
